Prezi is a very easy to use resource but shouldn't be used with students under the 3 grade level. This can be used for making just about any projects such as a place for students to do reports on an author. This tool is a tool that can be used for presentations in the classroom to show students a subject in a whole different way. It will engage students more with the way the president brings up the next slide.

Story Bird: Creating a story

English Language Arts Grade 2
Reading: Literature Standard 3
Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges.

Educational Technology - (Grades 3-5)
Standard 5
Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

Creative Communicator
I communicate effectively and express myself creatively using different tools, styles, formats, and digital media.

For this activity students will learn how to use their imagination to make a book that explains something, such as misbehaving, an adventure, or even a mystery. Story bird is very easy to use and can help students make amazing books. This is a tool that can be used by a teacher to either show students how to make a book or to explain a new  subject with students to help them get a new objective. It can also be just a fun website to let students just explore and to see what kind of stories they can come up with on their own. This tool really can let someones imagination go wild.

Here is an example of a book: The Misbehaving Little Hedgehog.

Observe, describe, and measure seasonal weather patterns and local variations.
Compare and contrast the seasonal weather patterns during the school year.
Analyze and interpret data such as temperatures in different locations and different times.

Youtube is a tool that can be used for just about anything. It can really be used to expand a child's mind by teaching them through videos. These videos are ways to expand a child's knowledge on the four seasons and the weather that come with these seasons. I think this tool can be used with all grade levels.

For more videos about the four seasons and the weather in the seasons follow this link: The Four Season Channel.

Piktochart InfoGraphics: Civil War Time Line

Social Studies 5th Grade
Standard 3
Students will understand the rights and responsibilities guaranteed in the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Objective 2
Assess how the US Constitution has been amended and interpreted over time, and the impact these amendments have had on the rights and responsibilities of citizens of the United States.
Explain the significance of the Bill of Rights.
Identify how the rights of selected groups have changed and how the Constitution reflects those changes (e.g. women, enslaved people).
Analyze the impact of the Constitution on their lives today (e.g. freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, petition).

Benchmark: As the United States expanded westward, major issues, some of them from the first years of the nation, began to challenge the stability of the nation. As the nation expanded, issues of states rights, the institution of slavery, and economic development culminated in a Civil War. This war formally ended slavery and strengthened the power of the Federal government. The era after the Civil War was a time of major economic development and technological innovation.
Educational Technology - (Grades 3-5)

This project gives the students a in hand time line of the Civil War so that they can learn the main events that happened during the war. This also is a great website to have students make their own time lines or use it for other projects to explain a subject. This tool was pretty easy to understand but I wouldn't introduce it to students in grades younger then fourth.

For this class activity students will use Todays Meet to answer a question I have posted. Students will go on and submit their answer to the questions I posted on Todays Meet. Students will be able to see what others say and then share their opinions. After getting all the data from the students we will take the data and make a chart to see which animals were the favorites.

To access the questions follow this link: Todays Meet Class Activity.

Google Doc: Counting the Animals in the Zoo

Mathematics Grade 1
Standard 1.OA.3:OPERATIONS AND ALGEBRAIC THINKING
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. For example: If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 =12. (Associative property of addition.) First grade students need not use formal terms for these properties.

Educational Technology - (Grades 3-5)
Standard 5
Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

This class activity is a math activity that students have to count the number of animals in the zoo by adding the parents and the baby animals in each area of the zoo. Using a google doc for this activity is perfect because it makes making a worksheet for students to work on very easy. All students or teachers need to do is go to the link with the Google Doc and print off the worksheet.
